Marvel's Spider-Man is a action-adventure Match developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4, based on the Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man.
Released worldwide on September 7, 2018, it's the first game developed by Insomniac. The game covers both Peter Parker and Spider-Man facets of the character, and tells a story about Spider-Man that is not tied to an existing book, video game, or movie.
Spider-Man was received upon launch. Critics called it one of the greatest superhero games praising particularly the battle its gameplay and web-swinging mechanics, graphics, storyline, characterization, and design of new york, though felt it lacked innovation in its open-world design. The game turned into a commercial success, selling 3.3 million copies in its first three days of launch, and broke several sales documents.
Spider-Man features a huge ensemble cast of characters in Spider-Man comics' history. Parker uses these skills to protect the taxpayers of New York City since the superhero Spider-Man. Eight years into his superhero career, Parker is now an masterful and experienced crime fighter, but struggles to balance personal lives and his superhero. He's aided in his fight with intrepid Daily Bugle reporter Mary Jane Watson (Laura Bailey), his ex-girlfriend, also NYPD Captain Yuri Watanabe (Tara Platt). Parker is employed by his mentor and friend, the honored scientist Dr. Otto Octavius (William Salyers). Spider-Man's adventure brings him into contact with different personalities, including Miles Morales (Nadji Jeter) and his parents, NYPD Officer Jefferson Davis (Russell Richardson) and Rio Morales (Jacqueline Pinol), OsCorp CEO along with New York mayor Norman Osborn (Mark Rolston), along with Silver Sablinova (Nichole Elise), leader of the private military company Sable International.
The mission to guard Spiderman the city of spider-Man brings him into conflict with several supervillains. Fisk is delivered to prison, but cautions that he was the only person keeping order in town. Fisk's lack gives rise to a supernaturally powered, demonic-mask wearing gang called the Demons who start dividing town for the powerful Mr. Negative, who can corrupt individuals through his signature. Spider-Man should also confront Electro (Josh Keaton), Rhino (Fred Tatasciore), Scorpion (Jason Spisak), Vulture (Dwight Schultz), Shocker (Dave B. Mitchell), Taskmaster (Brian Bloom), Screwball (Stephanie Lemelin), and Tombstone (Corey Jones).
Several other characters--such as Parker's and Watson's childhood friend Harry Osborn (Scott Porter), who's vanished on a lengthy European holiday, and anti-Spider-Man podcast host J. Jonah Jameson (Darin p Paul) have voice characters in the major game. The game features several references to the Marvel Comics world.  Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee cameos as a short-order cook. The game's downloadable content features appearances by master-thief Black Cat (Erica Lindbeck) (who has a voice-only role in the main game), and Hammerhead (Keith Silverstein), leader of the Maggia crime family.
